The U.S. 87th Infantry Division, also known as the "Paladin" division, is a unit of the United States Army. Originally formed during World War II and activated on November 15, 1942, it served with distinction in the European Theater. The division took part in major battles such as Operation Cobra, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Liberation of Paris. Post-World War II, the 87th was deactivated but later reactivated during the Cold War era, serving both domestically and overseas.
